FormFox Firefox Extension

Filed under: Firefox, Phishing — admin @

When you click a button on a web site to submit information such as a user name, password, or query it is important to know where the data is being sent in order to ensure that it going to the proper destination. Phishing attacks work by having the end user submit data to fraudulent sites impersonating other legitimate sites. The FormFox extension shows where data is being sent from a web form just by putting the mouse pointer over the submission button. If the server the data is going to has a different name than expected, such as being at a web site that appears to be a U.S. bank but the data is being submitted to “bank.cn”, then the site is likely an impostor.
